INTRODUCTION

This section should be brief, with no subheadings.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

This section should contain sufficient information so that all materials and procedures can be reflected easily. It can be divided into subsections if several methods are described. It should include year, name and geographical location of the study.

RESULTS

The content of this section should mention full comprehension of the data presented in figures and tables.

DISCUSSION

This section is required to justify the results in distinctive mood. A comparison between the results of present study and previous findings should be given in the discussion. The results and discussion can be merged in a single section if necessary.

CONCLUSIONS

This section should clearly explain the major findings of the study highlighting its importance and relevancy.

 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Style in the text: Reference noted in the text should indicate the author’s surname (last name) with the year of publication in parentheses e.g., Alam (2020). If there are two authors, ‘and’ must be used between the two names e.g., (Hossain and Rahman (2020). When reference is made to a work by more than two authors, the first name followed by et al. should be used e.g., Karim et al. (2020). If there is more than one work by the same authors in the same year are noted, they should be distinguished by the letters a, b, c etc.

Tables

Each table must be typed on a separate sheet and numbered consecutively in the same order as they are mentioned in the text. The title should fully describe the contents of the table and explain any symbol or abbreviation used in it as a footnote, using asterisks or small letters viz. a, b, etc. Tables should be self-explanatory, not very large (<8 columns in portrait and <12 columns in landscape formats respectively). The large sized tables should be suitably split into two or more small tables. Standard abbreviations of units of different parameters should be added between parentheses. The data in the tables should be corrected to minimum place of decimal so as to make it more meaningful. Vertical lines should not be used to separate columns. Similarly, horizontal lines should be used only where these are necessary, not in the body of the article. All tables should be tagged with the main body of the text i.e., after references.

Figures

In no case the same data should be presented in both tables and figures. Figures should be of good quality in black or in color, and should be within the columns of the journal (8 cm). Black and white photographs are also accepted. All figures should be placed in the main body of the text i.e., after references.

Peer review policy

Manuscripts will be sent to reviewers via e-mail for reviewing the manuscripts electronically using track change mode. All articles are initially screened by the member secretary of the editorial board solely or with the help of members of editorial board. If the article is found to be suitable, it will be sent to an expert for peer review. After the article has been examined by the reviewer followed by over viewer, it will be sent to the corresponding author for revision. The thoroughly revised article will be checked by the editorial board in the light of review/ over viewer comments whether it would be worth for publishing or not. The articles accepted for publication by the editorial team will be sent to the press for composing. Proofs are mailed to the corresponding authors if needed and are also checked by the Editor and /or board members.

Publication charge

Publication fee of this journal is 1000 (one thousand) taka for each manuscript.

Scientific notes

There is no individual abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion. Instead, these are written in continuous form without any sub headings.

 Some useful hints

  • Dates and years may be mentioned as 28 May 2012, 28 May to 7 June 2012.
  • Numerals and abbreviations should be avoidedat the beginning of a sentence
  • Only standard abbreviations should be used and these should invariably be explained at first mention.
  • For names of plant protection chemicals, the first letter of the name need not to be capitalized for scientific names but should be capitalized for trade names.
  • Abbreviations and treatment symbols such as T1, T2 under materials and methods, tables, figures, results and discussion should be avoided.
  • Numeral should be used whenever it is followed by a unit measure or its abbreviations g., 1 g, 3 m, 5 h, 6 months etc. Otherwise, words should be used for numbers one to nine and numerals for larger ones except in a series of numbers when numerals should be used for all in the series.
  • For the composition of fertilizers, manures, crops or soil, the elemental forms (K, P, Mg etc.) should be used.
  • Statistical analysis of data should be sound and complete with mean ±SE (Standard Error), and significant different values (P = 0.05) for comparison of treatment means in tables and figures.
  • For indicating multiplication, crossing, etc. multiplication sign (×) should be used but not an alphabet (x).
